Residents of The Mansions at Oak Point enjoy excellent top-ranked Little Elm schools in the highly acclaimed Denton Independent School District. Denton schools have earned the state’s highest rating. The district includes 24 elementary schools, eight middle schools, four comprehensive high schools, an alternative high school, two early childhood centers, an advanced technology complex and other specialized schools and centers.

A COMMITMENT TO EDUCATION

The support of the community the district serves is evident in the passage of four bond packages totaling $1.3 billion in the past 12 years. They have averaged passing with a more than 60-80% voter approval rate.

A COMMUNITY OF EXCELLENCE

Not only does the school district community support outstanding school facilities, but it also demands excellence in its educational programs. It is truly an educational community where citizens are highly engaged in education—especially with two major universities and a community college within its boundaries.

GIFTED STUDENTS PROGRAM

Denton Independent School District recognizes that gifted and talented students require educational experiences beyond those normally provided by the regular school program. EXPO, or EXceptional POtential, is the name of the district’s gifted and talented students program. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade are served in a pull-out program with an EXPO specialist. Sixth grade students are served in an EXPO course and in seventh through 12th grade, students enroll in advanced coursework and/or an EXPO course.

HIGHER EDUCATION

Residents can choose from many excellent colleges and universities in the nearby area, including University of North Texas, Texas Woman’s University and North Central Texas College, as well as University of Texas at Dallas and a host of nationally recognized universities in the DFW area.
